We are interested in finding out if anyone is involved in research or is
aware of research regarding measurement of base of support in a self
selected or natural standing posture. What anatomical landmarks are
typically used to measure base of support, if force plates are not use?
Does one measure from just one antomical landmark or more than one?
Or would one take measures from a rectangular (or other) representation of
the feet? Basically, we are looking for some type of clinical measure
of this index of standing balance. We are also interested in knowing if
previous work which has established normal base of support values (based
on gender, age, body type, height, etc) has been published.
