JOB ANNOUNCMENT FOR TWO FACULTY POSITIONS
DEPARTMENT OF BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING
UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI
The Department of Biomedical Engineering in the College of Engineering
of the University of Miami has experienced rapid expansion in its
undergraduate enrollment. Two tenure earning faculty positions at the
assistant professor level are being sought to be engaged in the further
development of this young program presently seeking accreditation.
Desirable additions to the Department's faculty include research in:
1) Cardiovascular and/or orthopedic biomechanics, including hard and
soft tissue mechanics, human movement, spinal fixation.
2) Medical signal/image processing and instrumentation.
The applicants are expected to develop and teach Jr. & Sr. level
courses, supervise/advise undergraduates, and develop a strong research
program in collaboration with other UM faculty in the College of
Engineering, School of Medicine, as well as the large BME industry
located in South Florida. The Department offers BS, MS, and Ph.D.
programs. The University is located in beautiful Coral Gables, within
the Miami metropolitan area. Nominations and applications with the
