POSITION TITLE
Assistant Professor
PRIMARY FUNCTION
Teaching and conduct research in exercise physiology.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Conduct a rigorous research program that attracts funding and yields
publications in scholarly, refereed journals. Also, conducting
collaborative research with other faculty in the Masters-level
Developmental Kinesiology program [in exercise physiology, biomechanics,
motor behavior, and/or pedagogy] is strongly desired.
2. Teach graduate and undergraduate courses in exercise physiology and
exercise science.
3. Collaborate with other faculty in activities of the newly-renovated
Exercise Physiology and Biomechanics/Motor Behavior Laboratories.
4. Advise graduate students in Developmental Kinesiology as well as
undergraduate students in kinesiology and the Exercise Specialist major.
5. Perform customary and necessary university and professional service
activities.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Doctorate in exercise physiology (or closely-related discipline);
demonstrated potential or evidence of research activity that may lead or
has led to external funding. Candidates whose research and teaching
demonstrate a focus on the study of human movement are particularly sought.
RANK AND SALARY
Assistant Professor but other ranks will be considered. Salary is
commensurate with qualifications experience.
