BRITISH CANOE UNION
AND
BRUNEL UNIVERSITY
SPORT SCIENCE SUPPORT
Sport Science Assistant
Bursary £6,875 per annum
The Assistantship is part of the British Canoe Union’s World Class Performance
Plan which is funded by the National Lottery. The current project started on
August 1st, 1997 and, subject to annual review, is for four years.
The project contributes to the development of National Squad athletes and
coaches, the preparation of Great Britain Teams for international competition,
and the dissemination of sport science information throughout the sport of
canoeing. The project has special responsibility for sprint canoeing and
therefore a personal interest in and experience of this sport would be
advantageous, but not essential.
The Sport Science Assistant will be a graduate of sport sciences or a
closely related discipline, and will support work in Biomechanics, Nutrition,
Physiology, and Psychology. The appointee will be expected to register for
a higher degree at Brunel University and work towards BASES accreditation.
Starting date is as soon as possible. Closing date for applications is:
19th December, 1997
