  • Two Faculty Positions: Tulane University, Biomedical Engineering

    Biomedical Engineering

The Department of Biomedical Engineering invites applications for two
tenure-track faculty positions that will be open beginning July 1, 1998.

One position is funded by a newly awarded Whitaker Special Opportunity
Award, "Establishing Excellence in Computational Tissue Mechanics." The
position is at the rank of an Associate Professor or higher whose focus
includes computational cell and tissue biomechanics research.

The second position, with rank open to discussion dependent upon the
candidate's qualifications, is intended to strengthen our experimental
activities in biomechanics/biomaterials or tissue engineering. However,
superior candidates with expertise in other areas of Biomedical Engineering
    will also be considered.

The department presently has 9 full-time faculty members, an ABET
accredited undergraduate program with 200 undergraduate majors, and over 50
graduate students. Applicants must have an earned doctorate, and will be
expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses and develop an
    externally funded research program.

Applications must be received by February 15, 1998. Send CV, brief
description of research and teaching interests, and names and addresses of
    three references to:
