GRADUATE RESEARCH ASSISTANTSHIP IN BALANCE STUDIES AND BIO-CONTROL SYSTEMS.
    University of Pittsburgh
    School of Engineering
    Bioengineering Program, and
    Dept. of Electrical Engineering

A Graduate Research Assistantship is available to engineering students
with an interest in control systems and signal analysis, particularly
as applied to the study of human postural control. The student will
have the opportunity to collect subject data in clinical trials, and
analyze these data to determine differences in movement control strategies
between different populations (e.g., aging, balance impaired).
    Opportunities
for conference attendance are also available.

Interested students with a B.S. (or M.S.) in electrical, mechanical or
bio-engineering (or other appropriate degree) should contact Prof. Pat
Loughlin (via email or regular post) for further information about the
project and RA. A statement of interest, brief bio, and resume should
    accompany all inquiries.

If an appropriate student is identified, the student must then apply and be
admitted via the usual mechanisms to the graduate program in
    Bioengineering,
or one of the other engineering departments (e.g., ME, EE) in the School,
    to
    hold the RA.

This search will continue until May, 1998, or until the position is filled.
