    Orthopedics/Biomechanics Tenure Track Faculty Position

    Walsh University invites applicants for a tenure track faculty
    position to its charming rural setting and its welcoming faculty,
    staff, and student body. Walsh is affiliated with a nearby medical
    school, a number of large teaching hospitals, and is 15 miles from two
    large universities. The professional community in a broadly
    surrounding area is proud and very supportive of this new Department
    of Physical Therapy.
    Our dynamic faculty are Ph.D. prepared, devoted clinicians,
    student-centered professors, and tenacious researchers. We have
    developed a highly integrated, entry level masters curriculum
    emphasizing the correlation between science and clinical practice; an
    investigational, problem-solving approach to clinical practice; and
    research skills. Our faculty is involved in funded research in
    several areas including basic physiology, clinical practice, stroke
    motor learning, cognitive processes and older adult learning.
    Walsh University is situated in a small, and dynamic city with all
    the values and advantages of a neighborly community which cares about
    the life of its citizens. Walsh is located in Northeast Ohio where
    1/4 of the state population resides; we are just 20 to 60 minutes
    drive from big city advantages. The Cleveland metropolitan area
    boasts of cultural amenities including a world-renowned orchestra,
    two ballet troupes, several professional theaters, jazz ensembles,
    modern dance troupes, art film theaters, sailing clubs, wind-surfing
    and sandy beaches, and over 14 other colleges and universities.
    Support for health-care provision, research, and education is provided
    by several research institutions including a world renowned
    health-care center, university, and many diverse clinical facilities.
    The faculty position will be open February 1, 1998; we will begin
    reviewing applications immediately. Salary is highly competitive with
    national standards. The general faculty position carries
    responsibilities in the areas of teaching, research, student
    advising. Possible teaching areas include biomechanics; kinesiology;
    musculoskeletal pathology and medical management; evaluation and
    physical therapy management of musculoskeletal dysfunction; and
    research methods. A motor function laboratory is currently under
    development.. Prior teaching experience, an earned doctorate, and
    research interest and experience in biomechanics/ and orthopedics are
    preferred..
