College of Nursing and Health Sciences
Program: Kinesiology & Sports Studies
Effective Date of Appointment: September 1, 1998
Rank/Position: Assistant Professor; Tenure Track
Salary: Commensurate with experience
Qualifications: Earned doctorate (ABD considered) in Kinesiology or related
field with specialization in Pedagogy or Motor Behavior. Demonstrated
ability to conduct research and ability to secure funding for research.
Evidence of successful teaching. Understanding of and appreciation for the
multidisciplinary nature of the field of Kinesiology. Ability to work
successfully in a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural setting.
Responsibilities: Teach undergraduate and graduate-level courses in
pedagogy and/or motor behavior, conduct research, provide service to the
university and community, and assist with student advising.
Application Deadline:Screening of applicants will begin March 23, 1998.
Position will remain open until filled.

General Information: The University of Texas at El Paso, with an enrollment
of approximately 16,000 students, is one of nine campuses in the University

master's degrees, and 6 doctoral degrees.
The Kinesiology and Sports Studies Program offers B.S. and M.S. degrees in
Kinesiology. There are currently more than 400 undergraduates and
approximately 20 graduate students pursuing these degrees.
