Our group is interested in determining some absolute pressures between two
deformable surfaces. We have attempted using systems such as tekscan and
novel but have gotten invalid results primarily due to bending stresses
occurring when the pressure mats are bent or deformed in any way. Does
anyone know of a system in which the pressure sensors are deformable and
thus free from bending stresses? Also, we would like the sensors to be
independent of any pressure mat or plate allowing us to place the sensors
exactly where we would like them. We are looking at pressures in the range
of 0-5 psi and would need a resolution on the order of 0.01 psi. Thank you.
