Falls in Older Adults: Causes, Assessment and Prevention

Falls are a major health care concern for the individual, family and health care system. The course is designed to provide health care professionals an interdisciplinary course related to risk factors for falls. Assessment and health promotion strategies to prevent falls will be presented. Outcomes of the course are to develop fall prevention programs to be used in the health care setting of the course participant, and to develop screenings and fall prevention talks for older adults residing in the community.
