Dear subscribers,
Apologies for the mail loop problem that occurred on Biomch-L.
It was caused by a malfunction in the mail server of one of
our subscribers, which kept bouncing messages back to the list
for re-distribution.
Please note that this was *not* due to any mistake made by
Grabiner, Gottlieb, or Pollo, the authors of the postings
that were caught in the loop. If this happens again, do not
complain to the authors, or to Biomch-L as a whole, but send
a message to Biomch-L-request@nic.surfnet.nl or contact the
list moderators directly.
LISTSERV, the software that distributes Biomch-L mail, has some
very sophisticated loop prevention algorithms, but this one got
through.
We think the problem is solved, but I will keep an eye on the list
for the next hours in case the problem is still there.
Again, apologies for the flooding of your mailboxes this morning.
