    FEDIX ACCESS ON INTERNET

    FEDIX, an on-line service of the Federal Information Exchange, Inc., can
    now be accessed through INTERNET. FEDIX is an information link between
    the Federal government and academia, providing on-line information on
    agency research opportunities, program contacts, scholarships, research
    equipment, procurement notices, and minority opportunities.

    Users can access the latest program guidelines and abstracts of previously
    funded research projects. FEDIX also provides an electronic mail feature
    enabling users to communicate with the systems operators.

    The federal agencies participating in FEDIX are:
    - Dept. of Energy (DOE)
    - Dept. of Commerce (DOC)
    - Dept. of Education (ED)
    - Dept. of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)
    - National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA)
    - Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)
    - National Science Foundation (NSF)
    - National Security Agency (NSA)
    - Office of Naval Research (ONR)
    - U.S. Agency for International Development (AID)
    - Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR)

    FEDIX provides access at no cost, and has no registration fees. Information
    is continuously updated and includes daily updates from the Commerce Business
    Daily and the Federal Register. Information may be downloaded, and there is
    24-hour access.

    The INTERNET address for FEDIX is: FEDIX.FIE.COM or 192.111.228.1 .
    At login type: fedix, once connected, type NEW at the USERID prompt and
    follow the instructions provided.

    For modem access to FEDIX dial 1-800-232-4879. The modem setup: 1200, 2400
    or 9600 baud, 8 databits, no parity, and 1 stopbit. Once connected, type
    NEW at the USERID prompt and follow the instructions provided.
