POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP POSITION
ORTHOPAEDIC BIOMECHANICS OR TISSUE ENGINEERING
Orthopaedic Research Laboratory, University of Pennsylvania
The Orthopaedic Research Laboratory of the Department of Orthopaedic
Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania is seeking applicants for a
postdoctoral fellowship position in orthopaedic biomechanics or tissue
engineering. Potential projects include studies of tendon injury, repair,
healing, and regeneration, as well as studies on the biomechanics of the
shoulder.
The Orthopaedic Research Laboratory is currently undergoing a major
renovation including design of new laboratory facilities on campus,
purchase of new equipment, and the addition of new faculty, staff, and
students. The laboratories include capabilities for mechanical testing at
large and small scales, device and component fabrication, and computing and
image processing. Additional contiguous and collaborative orthopaedic
research laboratory activities are devoted to biologic, biochemical,
electron microscopic, tissue and cell culture, and histologic studies of
both hard and soft tissues.
Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Bioengineering, Mechanical Engineering,
Mechanics, or a related field. A letter of interest briefly outlining
interests, a resume or curriculum vitae, and names and addresses of three
references should be sent to:
