The Biomechanics Laboratory at The University of Texas at Austin has an
immediate opening for a biomechanical engineer. Applicants for the
position should have a PhD in mechanical engineering, biomedical
engineering, or related field. The position requires knowledge of computer
modeling of the human musculoskeletal system. The appointee will work on a
joint project with Dr. M. Pandy of The University of Texas and Dr. S.
Tashman of The Bone and Joint Center at Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit. The
project is to develop and validate a three-dimensional, musculoskeletal
model of the human knee joint. The position is for 1 year in the first
instance, but may be extended to a second year depending on funding.
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
