Assistant Professor: Motor Behavior
The Department of Kinesiology & Health Studies at Southeastern Louisiana
University seeks applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position
available August 1998. Qualifications include earned doctorate in
Kinesiology specializing in Motor Behavior with emphases in Motor
Control/Learning and Biomechanics. Preference given to candidates with
university teaching experience, evidence of scholarly activity, and
successful grant writing. Duties include teaching undergraduate and
graduate courses, conducting research, mentoring graduate students,
directing the motor behavior laboratory, and serving on departmental &
university committees. Salary commensurate with experience and
qualifications. Review of applications will begin May 15, 1998 and
continue until the position is filled.
Southeastern Louisiana University is a comprehensive regional university,
enrolling 15,000 students, located in the city of Hammond (halfway between
and within an hour drive of Baton Rouge and New Orleans). The Department
of Kinesiology & Health Studies serves approximately 500 undergraduates
pursuing undergraduate degrees in Teacher Education, Health Promotion &
Exercise Science, Sport Management, Athletic Training, and Dance; and 40
graduate students pursuing M.A. degrees in Exercise Science, Health
Promotion & Exercise Science, Health, and Kinesiology.
