MY APOLOGIES, I WAS DISTRACTED, AND THE PREVIOUS VERSION OF
THIS MESSAGE WAS SENT BEFORE I HAD ADDED A "Subject" AND
PROOF-READ THE MESSAGE. I ALSO WANTED TO ADD THE STATED
"Aims" AND "Scope" OF THE NEW JOURNAL ...
Some people on this list may be interested in the following
new journal:
"Multibody System Dynamics"
Volume 1, No 4 was published in December 1997
The stated "Aim" of the journal is ...
" ... to report original contributions describing significant
developments of different topics in multibody system dynamics
through a single journal. Mathematical foundations, numerical
procedures, experimental results, software development and
applications of this field are of interest to readers of the
journal."
The state "Scope" of the journal includes ...
" ... theoretical and computational methods in rigid and
flexible multibody systems, their applications and experimental
procedures used to validate the theoretical foundations. The
research reported in this journal will address the issues of
new formulations, solution algorithms, computational efficiency,
analytical and computational kinematics, synthesis, flexibility
effects, control, optimization, real-time simulation, parallel
computations, workspace and path planning, reliability and
durability. Fields such as vehicle dynamics, aerospace technology,
robotics, and mechatronics, machine dynamics, crashworthiness,
BIOMECHANICS (my bold type), computer graphics or system
identification are also covered by the journal if the treated
topic is related with multibody system dynamics."
The editors are:
Werner Schiehlen (University of Stuttgart)
Jorge A.C. Ambrosio (Instituto Superior Tecnico, Lisbon)
The journal is published by:
Kluwer Academic Publishers
Spuiboulevard 50
P.O. Box 17
3300 AA Dordrecht
The Netherlands.

The journal was brought to my attention by Professor Tom Kane
(Stanford University) who is serving on the International
Advisory Board. If anyone would like additional information,
please drop me a note.
Regards to all,
Jim WALTON
Chairman-Elect, SPIE Working Group on High-Speed Photography,
Videography and Photonics
P.S. Neither 4D VIDEO or myself have a commercial interest
in this journal. I bring it to your attention strictly
for professional reasons.
