    > GRADUATE ASSISTANTS: The Unit of Health, Nutrition and Movement
    > Science has
    > openings for qualified master level graduate students in the following
    > areas:
    >
    > BIOMECHANICS: (1) Assist in the teaching of undergraduate
    > biomechanics,
    > functional kinesiology labs and activity classes.
    > EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGY: (1) Assist in the teaching of undergraduate
    > exercise
    > physiology labs and activity classes.
    > FITNESS FOR LIFE: (2) Teach large undergraduate classes in general
    > concepts
    > of wellness throughout the lifespan and general activity classes in
    > weight
    > training, cardiovascular fitness, aeorobic dance, and circuit training
    > ATHLETIC TRAINING (1) Work in athletic department as an assistant
    > trainer
    > for various sports. This position requires NATA certification as well
    > as
    > general graduate student acceptance.

    > QUALIFICATIONS:
    > A. Acceptance in the College of Graduate Studies at Montana
    > State
    > University: 1) Graduate Record Exam- total minimum score 925 with at
    > least
    > 420 on the verbal component; 2) minimum 3.00 GPA last two years
    > undergraduate work; 3) completion of graduate application
    > B. Acceptance into a graduate program within the Unit
    > (biomechanics, exercise physiology, sport pedagogy (teaching /
    > coaching),
    > community health or nutrition). Requires an undergraduate degree in
    > related
    > area or willingness to complete undergraduate coursework during
    > graduate
    > work.
    > C. Commitment as a full time graduate student taking courses
    > required by graduate coordinator or chairperson of degree.

    > TEACHING ASSISTANTSHIPS:
    > The teaching assistantships include a full tuition waiver
    > (student
    > pays books and fees) plus stipend of approximately $6000 per 9 month
    > contract beginning August 17, 1998.
