The Division of Orthopaedic Surgery invites applications for the position of
Head of the Smith Joint Mechanics Laboratory. The successful applicant must
have an M.D. or equivalent degree and will be expected to conduct research,
supervise orthopaedic fellows and write research grants. Candidates should
have a strong background in biomechanics and kinematics with emphasis on the
knee and hip. Expertise in animal and cadaveric experimental surgery is
required including experience with database management, statistical methods,
image analysis and
3-D modeling. Previous orthopaedic clinical training/ practice and experience
in research design, methodology and grant writing are desirable. Attach
copies of relevant peer reviewed publications/ presentations to your
application. The position is available as of June 1, 1998. Send in a
complete resume with at least three professioanl references by May 15, 1998
