    Postdoctoral Position
    Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience
    Queen Square, London

    Patrick Haggard & Daniel Wolpert

We are seeking a postdoctoral research fellow to work with us on a
3 year project grant funded by the BBSRC entitled "Sensorimotor
representation and manual action". The project will focus on (1) how
the nervous system represents the position of the hand in space, (2)
how these representations are used dynamically during movement, and
    (3) how these representations are adapted by altered sensory inputs.

The position would suit someone with active interests in sensorimotor
control, human action and models of motor learning. Experience with
the following would be advantageous: kinematic recording, visual
stimulus programming, experimental design, LabVIEW programming,
    MATLAB, UNIX, computational modelling.

The work will take based within the new Institute of Cognitive
Neuroscience, which will be housed in Queen Square, London. This
setting will provide an internationally outstanding research
environment for neuroscience, with strong links to the adjacent
functional imaging laboratories and new Centre for Computational
Neuroscience. The start date is planned for 1st September 1998,
though some flexibility over dates may be possible. The salary will
be on the UK standard postdoctoral scales.

For further information, or for an informal discussion, please email
    or telephone Patrick Haggard:
