The Rehabilitation Foundation, Inc. is accepting applications for the
position of a SENIOR RESEARCH SCIENTIST in statistical analysis.
The Rehabilitation Foundation, Inc. (RFI), is an independent,
not-for-profit foundation with the sole purpose of advancing research and
education in the field of physical medicine and rehabilitation. The
successful candidate will play a key role in the development of a variety
of health related research projects focusing outcomes, including
comparative reporting and compliance with data on outcomes required by
accrediting bodies. In addition, this position will support research into
creation of high quality, low cost physical medicine and rehabilitation
programs and services among and within health systems and our customers.
QUALIFICATIONS
Individuals with significant experience in statistics with emphasis in
health services or social science disciplines are encouraged to apply.
Applicants must possess a Ph.D. in statistics and/or related basic
sciences. Background in psychometric is a plus.
DUTIES
Working together in a multi-disciplinary, team environment the senior
research scientist will serve as a primary resource in assessing a variety
of health related outcome data. The individual will work with physicians,
residents, clinicians, other scientist and administrators in designing,
implementing, evaluating and supporting research. Responsibilities will
focus on creation of evaluation plans, assessing program impact and
predictive modeling of cost. This position will provide specialized
reporting and evaluation of rehabilitation programs outcomes; provide
comparative reporting and compliance with data on outcomes for various
accrediting agencies and participates in and supports various collaborative
research projects on promising techniques that are used in community-based
rehabilitation health systems. As this is a foundation, we require that
the position work with clients in a variety of health related environments,
setting up programs and overseeing their evaluation. RFI requires jured
publications and presentation of research.
Successful applicants at the junior-level will be expected to pursue
independent research with extramural funding as well as collaborate with
existing faculty in the Rehabilitation Foundation and its clients.
Senior-level candidates should have a track record of original research as
well as funding. It is also expected that successful candidates will teach
regularly scheduled courses as well as supervise research of PM&R medical
residents.
COMPENSATION
The salary for this position is negotiable and commensurate with experience.
