Dear Subscribers;
To calibrate a cartilage contact-stress sensor array, I will apply
known loads to it with use of a materials testing machine. To
mimic the joint contact condition as closely as possible, I intend
to coat the loading plattens (that contact the array of
micro-sensors) with a synthetic material that matches the material
properties and dimensions of the articular cartilage as closely as
possible. As a minimum requirement, I would like the modulus of
elasticity to be closely matched to that of the articular cartilage.
Do you know of a material that is suitable for this application?
Thank you very much for any relevant information,
-Jack
