The Wright State University School of Medicine seeks a Ph.D. or M.D.
faculty member at the Associate Professor or Professor level to become
the Director of the Institute for Rehabilitation Research and Medicine
(IRRM). This position is available due to the untimely loss of Roger
Glaser, Ph.D.
The Institute is well-equipped, and is staffed with talented,
knowledgeable researchers and support staff. It has a wonderful
location in the University Research Park. There are active clinical
research relationships with Miami Valley Hospital, Wright Patterson Air
Force Medical Center, and the Dayton Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Funding and support relationships are well established in each of these
venues. The new Director would be responsible for the academic and
clinically-oriented research and teaching programs, the operational and
budgetary aspects of the IRRM, and maintaining the publication and
presentation activities of the IRRM researchers.
Requirements include a Ph.D. in either Physiology, Biomechanics, Human
Movement/Rehabilitation Research, or MD with Board Certification in
Neurology, Orthopedic Surgery, or Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
Five or more years of research and a demonstrated track record of
extramural funding are necessary. This should include an active
research grant, transferrable to the University. An extensive
publication and presentation record, and demonstrated mentoring and
teaching skills are essential. Physicians must be eligible for an Ohio
license. Previous managerial skills, and research experience in the
rehabilitation field are preferred. Other preferred abilities include
