School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering
A number of research studentships are available for appropriately qualified
candidates for research in BioMaterials Engineering and Materials or Fluid
Dynamics within the School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering
Areas in which projects are available include: composite materials,
biomaterial modelling, microstructure modelling, optoelectronics, metal
fatigue, adhesion and adhesive bonding, environmental fluid dynamics.
Industrial and other sponsorships are attached to many of these from
companies such as: Rolls-Royce, Phillips, DERA, Nortel, HSE.
