Director of Gait Laboratory
Shriners Hospital for Children is a pediatric specialty hospital offering
high quality orthopaedic medical care to children and adolescents at no cost
to the patient or their family.
We are seeking to employ a qualified and highly motivated individual to
develop and manage our Gait Analysis Laboratory. Responsibilities will
include extensive involvement in the clinical assessments of mainly CP
patients, coordinating the plan of care with the surgical team, developing
research, and in-lab teaching of gait analysis principles.
Gait Lab Description
* 6-camera Vicon system
* Novel EMED PedoBarograph
* 1200 square feet area, with self-contained exam room and office space
Candidates for this position should:
* Have a Masters Degree in Biomedical or Mechanical Engineering and
preferably at least five years of experience specializing in gait and motion
analysis.
* Have the demonstrated ability to apply engineering knowledge to the
assessment of pathologic gait in a clinical environment.
* Demonstrate the ability to develop and evaluate biomechanical models and
computer-based systems to measure human movement.
