  • Re: Skin Temperature Measurement

    Fellow Biomch-Lers,
I am conducting a pilot study requiring periodic measurements of skin
temperature as well as other more biomechanical measures.
I have an Omega "Banjo" Surface Temperature probe. However, I'm not sure
exactly what procedure to use to get reliable accurate measurements. My
worry is that the application of the probe is changing the skin
temperature. Thus, how long should I apply the probe? Is the
steady-state representative of actual skin temperature? Or should I wait
    a specific amount of time?

Does anyone out there have any experience with skin temperature measures
using a surface probe? Any recommendations on procedures or references?

    Thanks!
