The city of Dallas is planning on replacing an existing asphalt jogging
track around a small lake with a concrete track. A local jogging group has
shown some concern regarding the ill-effects of running over concrete versus
asphalt. Both surfaces are extremely hard and should theoretically not be
any different to a jogger in regards to joint loading injuries. I have
found a few articles which treat both surfaces as equal. Does anyone know
of any articles which found a difference between jogging on concrete as
opposed to asphalt, or have any comments on this subject.
I will post the responses if enough interest is shown.
Thank you,
Ericka Calton
