    MECHANICAL ENGINEERING

    Tenure Track Faculty Position

    The Department of Mechanical Engineering in the Faculty of Applied Science,
    Queen's University, invites applications for a tenure track faculty
    position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the area of
    biomaterials and biomechanics, commencing July 1, 1999, subject to
    budgetary approval. Rank will be commensurate with qualifications.

    Applicants must hold a relevant Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering or a
    related field. The Biomechanics Group in the Department is pursuing a new
    initiative in the area of advanced treatment methods for musculoskeletal
    diseases based on the integration of mechanical, materials, biological and
    computer technologies. It is expected that the successful candidate would
    have an established research record in multidisciplinary research in the
    areas of biomechanical analysis, design or manufacturing.

    The successful candidate will be required to teach undergraduate and
    graduate courses and contribute to the development of the curriculum,
    supervise graduate students, conduct research, interact with industry and
    make administrative contributions through service to the University,
    Faculty and Department. Relevant industrial experience will be considered
    an asset. Registration as a Professional Engineer in Canada, or
    eligibility for registration, is an essential qualification.
