Bioengineering Faculty Positions and McGinnis Chair of Bioengineering

The University of Pittsburgh is pleased to announce the formation of a
new
Department of Bioengineering within the School of Engineering. This
formalization is a result many years of productive research endeavors
with
our Medical Center and a very active educational program that offers
B.S. ,
M.S., Ph.D. and MD/Ph.D. degrees as well as Certificates in
Rehabilitation
Engineering and Clinical Cardiovascular Engineering. Recently we
received a
NIH Biotechnology Training Grant, a Whitaker Development Award, an
endowment
for the McGinnis Chair of Bioengineering, and a Keck Award for a
Biomedical
Rapid Prototyping Facility. Information about our faculty and research

We are seeking three individuals to enhance our core departmental
faculty.
These faculty will have a key leadership role in the further enhancement
of
our research and educational programs, particularly in conjunction with
our
Medical School and its research centers. Expertise areas of particular
interest include cell biology, biotechnology, biomaterials, signal
processing, and imaging. These three full-time, tenure stream
appointments
will be made at levels commensurate with the qualifications of the
candidates, i.e. at the assistant, associate, or full professorial
level.
Exceptional individuals with national prominence will be considered for
the
McGinnis Chair of Bioengineering.
