ASSISTANT PROFESSOR
BIOMECHANICS

The University of Calgary Faculty of Kinesiology invites applications
for a full-time Assistant Professor in the area of biomechanics. The
successful candidate must hold a doctoral degree with expertise in
mechanics, biology, and bioenergetics. This position offers an
independent research program and collaborative interactions within a
multidisciplinary research environment. Duties will also include
undergraduate and graduate student teaching and graduate student
supervision.
Qualifications include a doctoral or equivalent degree, advanced
post-doctoral training in research, and a proven record of research and
teaching excellence. The selected candidate will receive up to three
years of salary support from endowment funds in the Faculty of
Kinesiology. Thereafter, the candidate must compete successfully for
external salary support from agencies such as the Alberta Heritage
Foundation for Medical Research, the Medical Research Council of Canada,
and/or industry. If successful in obtaining external salary support, 75%
protected time will be available for research.
