The Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (IMRE) has initiated a
comprehensive materials research program with commercial aims. IMRE will
develop competence in strategic areas in order to position Singapore for new
opportunities and key technologies in the next century.
Candidates with strong background in Mechanical Engineering, Biomechanics or
related fields are invited to apply for the position of Research Officer in
the Biomaterials Programme.
The general scope of the work is in applying engineering principles and
innovative technology to the field of medical devices. The work will involve
Biomechanical Experimentation, Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing,
Rapid Prototyping and Finite Element Modelling. Applicants should possess at
least a good Honours or Masters degree. Knowledge of and experience with
various Rapid Prototyping techniques are considered a plus. Experience in
the use of ABAQUS, PATRAN and ANSYS finite element analysis software is
desirable.
