15TH ANNUAL INTERPRETATION OF GAIT ANALYSIS DATA COURSE
October 5-8, 1998
10TH ANNUAL ELECTROMYOGRAPHY: FINE WIRE TECHNIQUE COURSE
October 9-10, 1998
Dr. David H. Sutherland and the staff of the Motion Analysis Laboratory
at Children's Hospital, San Diego are pleased to invite you to attend
the Interpretation of Gait Analysis Data Course to be held October 5-8,
1998 and the Electromyography: Fine-Wire Technique Course on October
9-10, 1998.
THE INTERPRETATION OF GAIT ANALYSIS DATA is a multidisciplinary course
designed for physicians, engineers, physical therapists, and
kinesiologists. The course consists of a series of lectures and six
small group laboratories focusing on the interpretation of clinical
pediatric and adult gait data. Participants will be exposed to the
decision making processes used for determining clinical recommendations
in pathological gait analysis. Reviews of other selected research
applications will also be included. Data will be reviewed from primary
gait laboratory systems: motion, force plate, and dynamic
electromyography (EMG).
The lab sessions are designed to enable participants to personally
interpret gait data.
At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to evaluate
and interpret data from selected pathologic cases and plan for
appropriate treatment options.
GUEST FACULTY:
Jacquelin Perry, MD Rancho Los Amigos Hospital, Downey, CA
Jon Davids, MD Shriners Hospital, Greenville, SC
Sheldon Simon, MD The Ohio State University, Columbus, OH
Stephen Skinner, MD Shriners Hospital, Sacramento, CA
The course will be held at the Doubletree Hotel, Mission Valley, San
Diego, with the laboratory sessions, tour, and demonstrations held at
the Motion Analysis Laboratory, Children's Hospital, San Diego.
TUITION:
$1000 by September 11, 1998
$1100 after September 11, 1998
A non-refundable deposit of $100 is required to reserve space.
Registration fee includes: instructional materials, syllabus, laboratory
cases, CME certification, lunches, beverage breaks, and reception.
ELECTROMYOGRAPHY: FINE-WIRE TECHNIQUE is a unique 2-day course designed
for physicians and physical therapists interested in learning proper
insertion techniques in fine-wire electromyography. The course provides
hands-on experience in fine-wire electrode insertion, an understanding
of EMG instrumentation, and a review of cross-sectional and surface
anatomy for accuracy in electrode placement.
Participants will perform eight supervised electrode insertions, act as
subjects for insertions, and operate the EMG equipment.
GUEST FACULTY:
Richard Lieber, PhD University of California, San Diego, CA
The course will be held at the Motion Analysis Laboratory, Children's
Hospital, San Diego.
TUITION:
$600 by September 11, 1998
$700 after September 11, 1998
A non-refundable deposit of $100 is required to reserve space.
Registration fee includes: instructional materials, syllabus, textbook:
Anatomic Guide for the Electromyographer by Perotto, CME certification,
beverage breaks, and luches.
