I was wondering who out there has or is going through the process of
certification for Professional Ergonomists? I have received my application
packet this week and feel somewhat overwhelmed!
I am currently completing my Master's Degree in Exercise Science with a
concentration in Ergonomics at the University of Massachusetts (course work
and thesis are completed. I just need to get the grad school's approval).
Also, I have been working for the past year as an Ergonomics Consultant for
a Physical Therapy/Work Hardening Clinic, redesigning work stations for
injured workers to return to work.
Given my background compared to the requirements of the certification, I do
not come close to being approved. My question is does anyone know how
much. if any, leniency is given to recent grads who have built up the work
experience that is required (minimum of 7 years!?!). I would like some
input BEFORE I apply and spend the unrefundable fee. Please respond to me
directly unless you feel it would be of benefit to the list.
Thank you,
