** Spinal Biomechanics Laboratory Assistant Needed **

There is an opening for a permanent Research Assistant in the Spinal
Biomechanics Research Laboratory at the Barrow Neurological Institute
(St. Joseph's Hospital & Medical Center) in Phoenix, Arizona. The new
employee will work under the guidance of the lab coordinator and
interact with resident/staff neurosurgeons and Arizona State University
students to explore different aspects of spinal stability after injury,
disease, or surgical fixation. The position will be full time (M-F,
9-5:30; 40 hours per week with benefits). The salary range is
$12.02-$16.83 per hour, with starting salary dependent upon experience.
A bachelorís degree in Bioengineering or a related field is required,
and some previous experience in a research setting is preferred.

Job duties will include:
Dissecting and preparing human cadaveric spine specimens for testing
Designing and simple machining aluminum test fixtures
Setting up and running experiments in spinal biomechanics
Analyzing data
Writing research reports/journal articles
Computer programming (C/C++)
