hi, i'm a student in Nanyang Technological University and am doing a project
which requires me to measure the dimensions of the extensor tendons of the
hand (in-vitro). the problem is that the tendon does not have uniform
dimensions which makes it difficult to measure values like the x-sectional
area.(required for tensile testing).

a possible alternative would be to determine the volume by liquid
displacement and divide it by the length, which should give the average
area. are there any other better methods?
