While you may be correct in your assumptions concerning sex differences in
morphology, you may want to consider Dyspraxia (Clumsy child syndrome)
which is estimated to affect 8% of children here in the UK. Although, in a
small sample like yours it is doubtful that you would have affected
subjects.Some of the features of this syndrome are: laxity of ligaments,
poor proprioception, and poor hand-eye coordination. It seems to affect
male children more than female.

One study has reported gender differences in hand anatomy:
Ateshian, G.A., M.P. Rosenwasser, and V.C. Mow, Curvature
characteristics and congruence of the thumb carpometacarpal joint:
Differences between female and male joints. Journal of Biomechanics,
1992. 25(6): p. 591-607.
But did not study its effect on kinematics. This may be one
contributing factor to the differences you see.
Another study that may be of use to you:
Buchholz, B., T.J. Armstrong, and S.A. Goldstein,
Anthropometric data for describing the kinematics of the human hand.
Ergonomics, 1992. 35(3): p. 261-73.
You may want to find out if Johansson has found gender differences in
his studies:
Johansson, R., Sensory and memory information in the control
of dexterous manipulation, in Neural bases of motor behaviour, F.
Lacqaniti and P. Viviani, Editors. 1996, Kluwer Academic Publishers:
Netherlands. p. 205-260.
