    Post-Doctoral Research Position

    Musculoskeletal and Occupational Biomechanics
    Motion Analysis and Motor Performance Laboratory
    University of Virginia

    Position : A multi-year post-doctoral position will be available for
    musculoskeletal and occupational biomechanics research funded by the NIH.
    The ideal candidate will contribute to theoretical modeling and
    experimental validation of musculoskeletal mechanics. Research will focus
    primarily on low-back mechanics. Opportunities may exist for application
    of associated research developments to the fields of gait analysis and
    clinical evaluation. The candidate will be expected to participate in
    peer-reviewed publication and continued grant development.
    Qualifications : Doctorate in Biomechanics, Occupational Biomechanics, or
    related area
    Computer modeling, preferably modeling of musculoskeletal systems.
    Demonstrated experience with experimental design and data collection.
    Familiarity with experimental electromyography and motion assessment a
    plus.

    Location : The University of Virginia is the top ranked public university
    in the United States. Located in historic Charlottesville VA. UVA was
    founded by Thomas Jefferson. The campus is at the foot of the Blue Ridge
    Mountains offering a variety of athletic, scenic and tourist activities
    along Skyline Drive, George Washington National Park, and the Shanadoah
    Valley. The university is within a short drive of Washington D.C.,
    Richmond, Norfolk / Virginia Beach and the Atlantic coast.
