  • Using Wood as a Bone Substitute

    Dear Biomechers

I am doing a project in which I would like to use a wood model to simulate
the femoral shaft of a canine bone. Is their a specific type of wood that
most closely resembles wood in terms of its modulus, yield strength,
    orthotropy etc.

As usual all help is greatly appreciated and I will post a summary of the
    responses

    Regards

    David
