Position: Faculty Position in Biomedical Engineering and Physical
Medicine & Rehabilitation

Northwestern University, one of the pioneer universities in biomedical
engineering, seeks a senior level Assistant or Associate Professor in
the McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Science, with a joint
appointment in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
in the Medical School. The position will be offered in the tenure
track.
Applicants will be expected to hold an earned doctorate in Biomedical
Engineering or other engineering discipline, and to have a successful
record of research, including extramural grant acquisition.
Research is to be centered either in rehabilitation engineering,
movement biomechanics, or studies of neurologic or musculoskeletal
function and its disorders. The new faculty member will be expected to
maintain a distinguished research program and contribute to the
teaching of graduate and undergraduate students in both the Engineering
and Medical Schools.
Approximately 80 graduate students are pursuing MS and MS/PhD degrees
in biomedical engineering on both campuses, and the Department
graduates about 60 students per year in its ABET-accredited
undergraduate program.
