Here's a faculty job annoucement -- and one for grad student positions --

Biomedical Engineering Faculty Position
A tenure-track faculty position at the level of Assistant Professor
(Associate Professor for exceptional candidates) is available in support of
our initiatives in HomeCare and TeleRehabilitation Technologies. This is
the second of two positions funded in part by a Special Opportunity Award
from The Whitaker Foundation. Candidates are expected to have at least one
degree in bio/biomedical engineering (or at least five years of professional
work experience involving bio/biomedical engineering applications); to have
an undergraduate engineering degree; to develop a productive program in
research, teaching, and service; and to work effectively within a team
environment.
This position targets the emerging areas of telehomecare and
telerehabilitation. Applicants needn't have direct experience in these new
fields, but should be prepared to be part of the team that has obtained over
$5.5 million in funding during 1998 for research and development activities
that target these areas. Appropriate backgrounds include expertise in:
rehabilitation engineering and healthcare telematics/intelligent systems.
Also valued is a strong knowledge of physiology, experience interacting with
healthcare providers, and interest in product development/evaluation. The

Applications will be reviewed starting in mid-November, with the position to
start as soon as possible (earliest: January 1999, latest: August 1999).

Funded Positions for 8-10 new BME Graduate Students!
We are looking for new doctoral and master's level students, especially to
work within our new HomeCare and TeleRehab Technology Center, funded in part
by $6 million in external grants from The Whitaker Foundation, the National
Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research, DOD, and NSF ($11
million total, counting funding from the nearby National Rehab Hosp).
Positions to start in January or June of 1999. For more information,

[Note: a few of these positions could involve a significant movement
