Sensory Input for Locomotion

Hi all,

for my Ph.D. thesis in biomechanics I am working on the evaluation of
treadmill therapy for gait abnormalities and for incomplete paraplegics
in particular . Here are my questions:

1. Does anyone know about useful references dealing with the physiology
of sensory input for locomotion (proprioception, vestibular system etc.)
(basic stuff as well as latest research)?

2. Are there modeling approaches integrating physiologic/pathologic
sensory input into biomechanical models?

I will post a summary of the responses.
