    Dear subscribers,

Careers in biomechanics is a legitimate topic for discussion
    on Biomch-L, but...

The discussion has now reached the point that it is only
about whether to have the discussion or not. That is something
you can discuss with the Biomch-L moderators in private mail,
not on the list. The clarifications by Jeff Broker and
Jack Sujovolsky were needed to undo earlier mistakes but
    now it is enough.

I would like to use this opportunity to remind you that
Biomch-L should never be used to vent personal frustrations
or post ad hominem attacks. Although this has happened
unknowingly this time, the result is clear: a discussion in
which 90% is not about the real issues anymore (sounds almost
like the U.S. elections...). We don't want that. If you
post a summary, it is also your responsibility to edit the material
according to these guidelines. Contact a moderator if needed.

The recent summary of replies on journal review procedures
contained similar personal comments, which are not according to
the etiquette on this list. I prefer not to comment in public on
this, because it only draws more attention to those messages.

I spent some time updating the Biomch-L Guide, which should
be read by everyone before posting to the list. See:
The monthly mini-faq contains a hyperlink to this file.

    Thank you,

Ton van den Bogert, Biomch-L co-moderator
