A.PEDOTTI, an Italian biomechanical engineer, has worked in recent years on
rib cage motion analysis using the ELITE optoelectronic system, with arrays
of about twenty to fourty markers. Unfortunately I haven't the exact
references, but I think it shouldn't be too difficult for you to find
references in the literature to Pedotti and ELITE (both well known in
Italy).
