The School of Health Sciences is based on Deakin University's redeveloped
Burwood Campus in the eastern suburbs of metropolitan Melbourne in new,
purpose-built staff offices, research laboratories and teaching facilities.
This is a new School which has resulted from the amalgamation of the Schools
of Human Movement and Nutrition & Public Health, creating an extended
academic environment with enhanced technical infrastructure and support
services. The new position relates to teaching and research on physical
activity and health, movement analysis and sport performance and, studies of
muscle and bone metabolism. Further information can be found on the Deakin

Applicants should have completed a relevant higher degree and have
appropriate research track records or demonstrated research potential in the
neuromechanical bases of movement/biomechanics, as well as having good
teaching skills and capacities to supervise honours, masters and PhD
students. The position would normally be full-time and continuing. The
option of mutually agreeable fractional-time appointments may be negotiated
with suitable, qualified applicants. The level of appointment within the
Level A, B and Level C ranges will be based on the experience and
qualifications of individual applicants.
