    Biomechanics: The Department of Health and Kinesiology at Georgia Southern
    University invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor
    position with emphasis in the biomechanical aspects of movement. Primary
    responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in
    biomechanical analysis of movement and providing academic and research
    advisement to undergraduate and graduate students. Additional
    responsibilities include conducting research in the area of biomechanical
    aspects of movement, securing external grants and contracts to support
    research and training programs directing and furthering the development of
    the biomechanics laboratory, promoting and sustaining interdisciplinary
    dialogue, research, and service, holding active membership in a variety of
    professional associations/organizations, and serving on committees and
    participate in functions at the Departmental, College and University
    levels. An earned doctorate with a specialization in biomechanics, human
    factors engineering, motor control/behavior required prior to the
    appointment date. Candidates must also have 1-2 years of teaching
    biomechanics/movement analysis courses at the college/university level,
    demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching undergraduate courses,
    and demonstrated ability to direct a biomechanics laboratory. In addition,
    candidates must demonstrate the potential to develop a research program in
    the area of biomechanical aspects of movement as well as the ability to
    contribute to the university and profession through service activities.
    Preference will be given to candidates who have experience in the
    procurement of external grants and contracts. Salary is competitive and
    commensurate with experience. Application deadline is December 4, 1998.
