Postgraduate Research Studentships in Sports Science
Applications are invited for research studentships in Biomechanics (2)
Exercise Physiology (1) and Sports Psychology (1) . These will be based
on research activity leading to the award of a PhD together with the
teaching of undergraduate classes to a maximum of six hours
contact per week. Supervision of both teaching and research activity
will be completed by senior staff within Department. If deemed
appropriate, the studentships may also involve the completion of
supervised experience leading to British Association of Sport and
Exercise Sciences (BASES) Accreditation.
Applicants should normally have, or about to obtain, a 1st class or
2:1 honours degree in a relevant discipline. The Department will
consider applicants whose first degrees are in a variety of subjects,
as long as they are appropriate to the proposed research topic.
The Studentship includes a bursary of £6,455 (GBP) p.a. (plus
dependants' allowance where appropriate) and all fees over
three years (subject to satisfactory progress). Some assistance
may also be available to facilitate attendance at conferences and
other professional development activities.
