POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIPS IN HUMAN MOVEMENT CONTROL
Two Post-Doctoral positions are available in the Human Motor Control
Laboratory at The University of Adelaide. The successful applicants will
have a PhD in neuroscience, and an interest in how sensory and cortical
mechanisms are integrated in the control of movement. Both positions are
available early in 1999, for a maximum of three years. The salary will
depend on the applicant's experience, but will be in the range $A37,038 to
$45,111.
The first position is an NH&MRC-funded Research Officer position for
1999-2001. The area of study is the control of the human masticatory
system. The techniques that will be used include transcranial brain
stimulation, surface and single motor unit electromyography, sensory evoked
potentials and stretch reflex testing.
For details of this project, please contact:
Dr Timothy Miles (phone +618 83035108;
email: tmiles@physiol.adelaide.edu.au) or
Dr Mike Nordstrom (phone +618 83034567;
email: mnordstrom@physiol.adelaide.edu.au)
The second position is a Australian Research Council-funded Research Officer
for 1999-2001. The aim of this project is to elucidate some of the
mechanisms that underlie plastic change in the human sensory and motor
cortical systems. The techniques that will be used include transcranial
brain stimulation, surface electromyography, and sensory evoked potential
(EEG) testing.
