VACANCY IN BIOMECHANICS

This is a new position. The Sport and Exercise Science Department has
recently been given approval to begin a Master of Science degree program
(specialization in Biomechanics) in the fall semester of 1999. Other
related programs in SES at Barry include Sports Medicine-Athletic Training,
Exercise Science, and Sport Management.

QUALIFICATIONS
Additional faculty member sought with earned doctoral degree with
specialization in biomechanics; desired mechanics background with
experience in orthopedic, sport, and/or equipment design; comprehensive
knowledge of motion analysis; excellent graduate and undergraduate teaching
skills in kinesiology, laboratory instrumentation, motor control,
mechanical analysis.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Graduate (primarily) and undergraduate teaching and academic advising;
supervise graduate student theses; assist with supervision of laboratory
activities; serve on graduate, departmental and university committees;
professional and community service; scholarly research involvement; pursue
internal and external funding to support and enhance teaching and research
activities.
SALARY
Commensurate with qualifications and experience

August, 1999
