I am posting this information for a colleague, so please respond to the
    address below:

    GRADUATE RESEARCH OPPORTUNITIES
    IN BIO-FLUID DYNAMICS

    Microfluid Mechanics Laboratory
    University of Vermont
    Burlington, VT

Graduate fellowships are available for Fall 1999 to prospective students
interested in pursuing graduate research in bio-fluid dynamics in the
Microfluid Mechanics Laboratory at the University of Vermont. This
solicitation is open to those students wishing to pursue either a master's
or doctoral degree. Current research projects include:

    1. Dynamics of branching blood flows in microfabricated artificial
    microvascular networks
    2. Three-dimensional imaging of microcirculatory flows using confocal
    microscopy and image reconstruction techniques
    3. In vitro characterization of red blood cell aggregate
    4. Rheology and transport properties of artificial blood substitutes

Additional details can be found on the internet at
    http://atlas.emba.uvm.edu/microfluids.htm

    Prospective students should contact:
