    Dear Friends,
Many years ago I came across the following English translation of a
    Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1519) quotation:
"The science of mechanics is the noblest and above all others the most
    useful,
seeing that by means of it all animated bodies which have movements
    perform all their action."
Unfortunately I have lost track of the source, and now I am in urgent need
of it as a reference. Can anyone help?
    Best regards
    Rolf Moe-Nilssen

PS Maybe this quotation is of relevance to Urban Fraefel and others who
look for the roots of biomechanics.
