  • Occupational Biomechanics of carrying School bags

I have been contacted by a local school with regard to research into the carrying of school bags by children and the possible injury risk. They are trying to put together a case for the installation of lockers in the school. I have completed a search of Medline without success. Does anyone know of any research into carrying of suitcase-type bags and backpacks by school children and possible orthopaedic problems?

    Thanks in advance.
